Pre-School (3 to 5 Years)

Our pre-school swimming lessons focus on maintaining and growing your child’s confidence and enjoyment in the water. We give them the skills to become more independent swimmers by developing basic water safety knowledge and co-ordination in the water. This will assist them in their swimming development and survival.

School Age (5 to 16 Years)

School Age - Swimming lessons for kids who have got the basics covered and are ready to start refining their skills. School-age lessons have a strong focus on developing swimming technique, including learning and becoming adept at all the different swimming strokes.

Squads/Upper Levels (5 to 16 Years)

Squad – Taking swimming to the next level, overall 4 core strokes. Building on stroke refinement pace and endurance. Time trials, relays, race starts, and turns are all built on to develop fast and efficient swimmers.

Private Lessons

Our private lessons offer personalised, one-on-one swim instruction for all ages. Whether your child is just starting out or you’re an adult looking to build confidence in the water, we tailor each session to suit individual goals and comfort levels. It’s a supportive, flexible way to learn at your own pace

Aqua Sensory

For children who need a bit more support, our Aqua Sensory sessions will take place in the warm hydrotherapy pool. Teachers will gently group students based on their unique sensory and developmental needs, ensuring each child feels comfortable and supported - it's all about what works best for them, not how well they swim.

Aqua Education

Let us tailor an aqua education programme for your school.

We’ve designed our education programmes in conjunction with Swimming New Zealand, Surf New Zealand, New Zealand Underwater, Water Safety New Zealand, ACC and Coastguard New Zealand.

They’re designed to equip children with practical skills and positive water experiences so they can have a lifetime of enjoyment in, on and around our waterways.

MAKE AN ENQUIRY

Our core teaching programme is a learn to swim and personal survival programme with 10 levels, designed so students can enter and advance through the programme at their own rate.

The emphasis is on developing confident, competent swimmers in the main strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly). The programme generally runs over five days (40-minute lessons each day) and is for students aged 5 to 13 years.

Extension programmes

We also offer extra programmes. You can pick one or a combination of programmes that best meet your students’ needs.

These programmes can be run at our facilities (Waterworld or Gallagher Aquatic Centre) or your own school pool. 

• MiniDippers - bring the fascination of underwater life a step closer to children by introducing them to snorkelling.
• Riversafe - provide your students with valuable information about rivers to enable them to stop and think before taking risks. 
• Kayaking - teaches practical kayaking skills to enjoy and safely kayak in open waters. 
• Safe Boating - develop students knowledge, skills and attitudes about safe boating that will prepare them for a boating experience.
• Water Safety - fundamental safety skills for different aquatic activities at our beaches, lakes and rivers.
